T-Shirt Design Contest
This spring, The Art House sponsored a t-shirt design contest. We asked high school students in Vermont:
What does community mean to you?
How can you express that meaning
in a work of art?
We received 26 entries which were judged by a panel or four judges. Finally, a winner was chosen. The Art House is proud to announce that Megan, age 15, of Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, VT is our winner. Her design, shown at right, is a digital rendering created in AdobePhotoshop. Megan will receive a free t-shirt with her design printed on it, and free t-shirts for her immediate family members.
The judges also chose a second place winner: Tianna, age 17, also from Burr and Burton Academy. Tianna's design was also created digitally.
The first and second place winners, along with the 10 best runners-up will be shown in the gallery Friday, April 30 - Sunday, May 2. We will have a small opening to present the designs and the T-shirts with the winning design printed on them on Saturday, May 1.
Please join us on Saturday, May 1 to view the creative designs, buy a t-shirt to support The Common Place, Inc. and The Art House.
Thank you to all the students who participated in our contest! Everyone did a great job, and we hope to see entries from you again next year!
